Everything you need to fly from Muscat to Pakistan in 2026: which airlines fly non-stop to Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, Peshawar and Multan, real ticket prices, what the cheapest fare includes, phones, gold and currency at Pakistani customs, the cheapest months — and how SKY LINE TRAVEL books it in one message.
For hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis who live and work in Oman, the flight home is one of the most important purchases of the year — for Eid with the family, a wedding in Sialkot, a new baby in Peshawar or the long summer holiday. The good news: Pakistan is close. Karachi is under two hours from Muscat, and Islamabad, Lahore and Sialkot less than three.
The hard part is choosing. Several airlines fly the route, schedules changed a lot in 2026, and the cheapest ticket often has no checked bag — not ideal when you are taking gifts home. This guide puts it all in one place: who flies non-stop to which city, real ticket prices, baggage, phones and gold at Pakistani customs, and the cheapest months to fly.
Route status — 10 October 2026: flights between Muscat and Pakistan are operating. After the regional airspace disruption in spring 2026, PIA resumed Muscat on 13 May and was privatised on 29 June. Airline timetables change with the winter schedule at the end of October, so check your flight before travelling — or ask our desk to check it for you.

Which airlines fly non-stop from Muscat to Pakistan?
SalamAir, Oman’s low-cost airline, has the biggest Pakistan network from Muscat: Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, Multan and Peshawar. Oman Air flies non-stop to Karachi only; its Lahore and Peshawar tickets are connecting itineraries and cost much more. PIA came back to Muscat in May 2026 with flights to Lahore, Multan and Islamabad, and the Pakistani private airlines AirSial (Sialkot and Islamabad) and Airblue (Lahore) also fly the route a few times a week.
| City | Airlines (non-stop) | Flight time |
|---|---|---|
| Karachi (KHI) | SalamAir daily · Oman Air | About 1 h 50 |
| Islamabad (ISB) | SalamAir · PIA (Fridays) · AirSial | About 2 h 45 |
| Lahore (LHE) | SalamAir · PIA (Tue, Thu) · Airblue | About 2 h 45 |
| Sialkot (SKT) | SalamAir (5 a week) · AirSial | About 2 h 45 |
| Multan (MUX) | SalamAir · PIA (Wed, Sat) | About 2 h 30 |
| Peshawar (PEW) | SalamAir (Mon, Fri) | About 2 h 35 |
There is currently no non-stop flight from Muscat to Faisalabad, Quetta, Gwadar or Turbat. For Balochistan and the Makran coast, fly to Karachi and connect on a domestic flight; for Faisalabad, Lahore or Multan are the closest. Flights coming back to Muscat take 15–25 minutes longer because of the winds, and many Pakistan flights are overnight — leaving Muscat late in the evening and landing in the early morning, so arrange your pick-up in advance.

How much is a ticket from Muscat to Pakistan?
Outside the holidays, one-way tickets on SalamAir start very low. In early October 2026 its own fare calendars showed these “from” prices for dates in late October and early November:
| Route | From (one way) | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Muscat → Islamabad | OMR 28 | Selected dates late October and early November |
| Muscat → Peshawar | OMR 28 | Mondays and Fridays only |
| Muscat → Karachi | OMR 31 | Daily; Oman Air from about OMR 49 |
| Muscat → Sialkot | OMR 33 | November dates |
| Muscat → Lahore | OMR 38 | Late October |
| Muscat → Multan | OMR 40 | Late October |
Two warnings before you book the cheapest seat. First, these fares have no checked bag, so add the kilos you need before comparing. Second, last-minute fares are two to three times higher — a Lahore seat that costs OMR 38 in late October was OMR 80 for a flight the next day. A typical Karachi return costs around OMR 90–100 in low season and up to OMR 160 at peak times.
The cheapest months to fly from Muscat to Pakistan
| When | What drives it | Fares | Our advice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mid-October – mid-November | Quiet season after the summer | Lowest | The best window of the year |
| Oman National Day — 25–28 November | A four-day weekend in Oman | Rising | Book now for the long weekend |
| 19 December – 3 January | Winter school holidays in Oman | High — about a third above November | Book 6–8 weeks ahead |
| February | Before Ramadan | Low | Good for a family visit |
| Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (about 9–10 March 2027) | Everyone wants to be home for Eid | Highest of the year | Book as early as you can |
| June – August | Summer holidays and Eid al-Adha | Peak | Book months ahead |
- Compare “fare + bag”. Add the suitcase you will really carry before deciding which airline is cheapest.
- Book two to four weeks ahead for normal dates and six to eight weeks for the holidays.
- Two one-way tickets can be cheaper than a return, and you can mix airlines — for example SalamAir out and PIA back.
- Check the neighbouring city. Sialkot, Lahore and Islamabad are a few hours apart by road, and one is often much cheaper than another.
- Write the names exactly as in the passport — a correction after issue can cost more than the ticket.
- Keep your booking reference (PNR) to check in online and manage changes.

Baggage on Muscat–Pakistan flights
The airlines handle baggage very differently. SalamAir and Airblue’s cheapest fares include no checked bag at all, while the full-service airlines include a suitcase. When you are taking gifts home, a fare that looks OMR 10 more expensive can be the cheaper one.
| Airline and fare | Cabin bag | Checked bag | Next fare up |
|---|---|---|---|
| SalamAir — Lite | 5 kg under-seat bag | None | Value 20 kg, Flexi 30 kg; or buy 10–40 kg online |
| Airblue — Value | 7 kg | None | Flexi 20 kg, Xtra 30 kg |
| Oman Air — Super Saver | 7 kg | Usually 20 kg on subcontinent routes | Comfort 30 kg, Flex 40 kg |
| PIA — Economy | 7 kg | Usually 20–30 kg, depending on the fare | Check the e-ticket |
| AirSial — Economy | 7 kg | Usually 20 kg | Check the e-ticket |
- Buy extra baggage online, not at the airport — SalamAir sells 10, 20, 30 and 40 kg in advance at a much lower price than at the counter.
- No single bag may weigh more than 32 kg on any airline. Split heavy boxes into two.
- Gold, cash and phones go in your hand luggage, never in a checked bag.
- Coming back from Pakistan? SalamAir asks passengers to be at the airport four hours before departure.

Documents, phones, gold and currency: what to know before you fly
Pakistani citizens need only a valid Pakistani passport to fly home; there is no health form and no Pass Track registration for arrival any more. Family members with foreign passports should note one 2026 change: since 17 July 2026, an expired NICOP is no longer accepted for boarding — they need a valid Pakistani passport, a valid NICOP or a Pakistani visa.
| Item | Rule | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Your own phone | Overseas Pakistanis can register one phone free for 120 days per visit with PTA | Register on the PTA DIRBS portal with your passport and a Pakistani SIM |
| Phones as gifts | PTA tax must be paid, or the phone is blocked about 60 days after a Pakistani SIM goes in | Budget for the tax or give the phone to someone using a foreign SIM |
| Foreign currency arriving | No limit, but declare over US$10,000 | Declare in the Pass Track app before the airport |
| Leaving Pakistan | Maximum US$5,000 per visit for adults | Keep exchange receipts |
| Gold and jewellery | No published gram allowance; bars and coins are dutiable | Wear modest personal jewellery, keep receipts, declare anything substantial |
Muscat to Pakistan checklist
0 of 7 readyFor Oman residents: under the Foreigners’ Residence Law, residence lapses after six continuous months outside Oman. If your wife and children are spending the long summer in Pakistan, keep the trip under 180 days and check that the resident card and visa will still be valid when they come back. Since late 2025 the resident card itself can be issued for longer periods, but the residence visa still has its own expiry date.
At the airport: Muscat and arriving in Pakistan
- Arrive at Muscat airport three hours before departure — the airport’s own advice. Check-in counters close 60 minutes before the flight.
- Check in online to save time: SalamAir from 24 hours before, Oman Air from 48 hours before.
- Go to the gate early — boarding finishes before the departure time and late passengers are refused.
- Islamabad: only one person per passenger can meet you inside the arrival area. Karachi: people meeting you need their original CNIC and a copy of your ticket.
- Lahore in winter: from November to February smog can delay or divert flights — check the status before your family drives to the airport.
